I'm Just Doing Me... Really

 1. The one question that I just HAVE to ask is why "AKA" out all the other aka's you could have chose from? Does it have any significance if yes do tell.

AKA describes how my personality is very layered when it comes to all the different aspects of my career. I don't just consider myself to be a rapper...and that's it. Sometimes I have to let other sides of my character dominate and sometimes I have to let it take a backseat. "AKA" describes how I cant be boxed in.

2. To some you're already legendary, to others you're egocentric, and to most you're just plain loving. How do you respond to this and describe yourself in just two words.

Like I said, my personality is layered and depending on how well u know me, u will see different layers. Two words: Perfectionist and Conflicted.

3. Not to dwell on this topic but your 'beef' with L-Tido has clearly been overplayed and very exaggerated and throughout this you've kept your cool and haven't been public or very opinionated about it. Why?

I believe that topic has been exhausted. Any more voicing of my opinion about it just makes it linger in people's memory while I have more important things to push.

4. You seem to be one of the few South African Artists that have a strong solid foundation in terms of music and management techniques. What / who helps you mantain such a steady focus in your music and when delivering it. Furthermore who helps you mantain such a strong structure when so many artists are getting sued and used by recording labels and or their own management..?

I'm very grateful that I am surrounded by passionate people. People who understand what it takes to make a success of what I do. I just do my best never to dissapoint them or any of the people who support my career. I love what I do, and so do they.

5. Finally, "Victory Lap" and "Victory Lap Remix" have proved to be legendary with over 500 downloads in an hour!! What more can we expect from AKA on the year 2011 [20-Elevation]... Can you elevate yourself even higher?

People tend to think I'm somewhere high up, personally I have even scraped the heights of where I know I belong. My album isn't even out yet. I've worked hard to be where I am, but I have so many goals that I need to fulfill. This year I want to perform across Africa and release my album to critical acclaim.

South Africa's Sweetheart... why we totally adore her

 1. You've been defined as a fun, mature, remarkably talented, fantastic,
and ofcourse.. Dedicated.. With so many definitions of who you are how do
you respond to them? And describe yourself in 10 words..

*Wow! All of that?! *giggles* Thank you! I'm very humbled by those
definitions and extremely happy that that is the person I come across as to
people because that is the core of who I am. I do not try to be like anyone
else, I'm very comfortable in my own skin and blessed that people love me
for who I am. Me in 10 words...uhmm..Bubbly, fun, crazy, hardworking,
dependable, loving, smart, spiritual, miss independent, kea phapha! *

 2. Your transition from TV to radio - YoTv To 'My House' alongside DJ
Euphonik - is remarkable. Surely you went through many obstacles. Can you name
a few? And how did you oveercome them?

*Thank you very much. It has been a hard journey in terms of crossing and
defying red tape but Euphonik has been amazing and very supportive
throughout all of it. When I stopped doing the Hot Off The Press feature for
some time in 2010 he called me and said I want you back on it and for me
that said 'There is something about you&you're adding something of value to
the show'. Since then really put 120% into the feature and being a part of
the show which I truly owe to Euphonik for his faith in me and my talent for
radio.

We have so much every Sunday night between 7-10pm, just madness! *

Overcoming the obstacles came down to one simple thing: me reminding myself
why I fell in love with radio. The days of Thato&Thato in the morning, DK @
Y with Dre and Khabzela, Unathi and Ruuuuddddeee Boyyyyy, Bad Boy T,Lee and
Sanza!Aaaaaahhhhh man, I knew every promo on Y! The DJs were entertaining,
educating, real and talented. *

I aspire to have that kind of impact on people via the airwaves. *

3. You are known by many for being the first presenters to land on YoTv and
speak more than two african languages especially your mother-tongue: Venda.
It's crystal clear that you are a very diverse lady and you are very proud
of your culture and heritage. What advice can you give to those that are
totally westernised and have lost appreciation for their culture?

*Don't feel pressurized to have to fit in! If you do not acknowledge,
understand, and respect the crux of who you are and where you come from then
you have a bit of a problem. You will forever be bouncing around from trend
to trend, group to group, trying to fit in. If those around you do not love
you for all that you are, do yourself a favour and move along! *

 4. What can we expect from CC in the new year? New shows?

*2011 is going to be a very exciting year! I will definitely be back on TV
screens but can't say too much about it right now except it will be well
worth the wait! *wink* I'll also continue to grow on radio this year and
work towards rocking my own show. My corporate career is my cornerstone at
the moment and I'm thoroughly enjoying being able to do everything at the
same time. *

'One of the biggest rising hip hop duos from Pretoria.... ' Yes this is a feature on the boys Ecco and Ex . Both from Pretoria created a banging track namely 'Swag Awards'. Since then it's been a great journey leading to great performances, collaborations and ofcourse hit tracks.

Both have described their transition from dancing to rapping as unforgettable. They have experienced tough times together, great times, and have both learnt life lessons from every situation that they've experienced together.

When asked about how they mantain such a strong persona and good quality in their music, all is owed to management. Namely: Bling G and MiszBHAVEN. Management has played a huge role in their success both musically and in terms of dancing. Lebohang 'Dman' Mohapi, Thabang 'MiszB' Mamadi and Tshepo have always been behind them, guiding them through every obstacle in this industry.

2010 was a great year for the Soopastars as they gained a huge fan base both on Facebook and Twitter. Their music is now international. They have topped charts in Botswana and Mozambique.

2011? Well this year SoopaStars have a lot planned and we can 'expect to hear their names on every radio station.'

Just Me... In Depth Feature On Syncane: Club Dj and Entrepreneur

1. You've been defined as a fun, mature, remarkably talented, loving,
a 'playa', a party - animal, a lover, and ofcourse.. Dedicated.. With
so many definitions of who you are how do you respond to them? And
describe yourself in 10 words..

I don’t know about the playa part but
im young man and I love to have fun, i also feel like its really
important to stay grounded and focus on your goals and describing my
self in ten words is limiting… #livenolimits

2. Being a DeeJay and an Entrepreneur at such a tender age must have
it's perks but surely you went through many obstacles, can you name a
few? And how did you overcome them?

its always a mission in this game. Theres always people trying to break
you. Balancing family and school and work and then theres the girl
which can definetly make one lose focus from time to time but as you grow
in the game you get used to it.

3. Syncane Kamakazee: CEO of Kamakaze Ent. Frontman For Checkmate
Stunnaz. Model for M.E.I. Producer. Rapper. Dj. Songwriter. Recording

*lol -->> LAUGH OUT LOUD

4. What can we expect from Syncane in the new year? New

Money, Fame, Work, and... Best Friends

1. First things first, name / discuss 5 Flaws about your best friend.. Oh yes don't be shy [Giggles]

MericaOh.My.Soul...You're really making me think!!! Ok ivana...
                   she doubts her worth sometimes!
                   she can be impatient.
really can't think of anything [Smiles]

Ivana: Wowe [Ghetto Accent] , this is a tough one hehe.
She can be impatient at times
Short tempered so no one should mess with my girl or else...ayeye lol

She can't cook! I'm going to give her cooking lessons this year, I have to! LoL

There are just a few pet peeves that we all have about certain things that people do or say though Meri's good heart overshadows it all! There's more good in her; if I had to list what I love about her, I'd go on forever!

2. Almost everybody knows that you two are the best of friends. How do you both handle outside pressure and influences from others, especially if there's tension between the both of you?

MericaPeople will always try break you down but it's up to you as a person to decide whether you are going to fall or stand up and continue smiling. When people say things about me, I do take it to heart because that is their honest opinion about me. I evaluate myself and try see if they really are being factual about me. Its either I change my attitude or continue with my life. I love Ivana. People will talk about us but we know the real truth so we remain down to earth!

Ivana: Merri and I are such great friends, very supportive, loving and great believers and lovers of God. With that, we have a huge bond that people can't break even if they tried to. Influences and pressure from others? Non-existent to us! Our friendship has three people: Myself, Merica and Jehovah God.

3. The BIG QUESTION!!! How do you both juggle money, fame, friends, work, family, school, and still share such a strong bond?

Merica: Cliche as it may sound, school really comes first! My work never interferes! Doing work is my hobby so I do it during my extra time. Sometimes it can be painful when you see ur friends go out but you have to work on a saturday afternoon but its work… and I love it! I never get big headed about the whole TV thing so I'm still myself. I love my friends and family...oh man I love them! God always makes everything easier for me [Smile]

Ivana:  With the job that we have we have a lot on our hands, so much to juggle and more responsibilities than most teens our age. Though with 4 years of being in this, you learn to make time for those who matter the most to you and my friendship with Merica is one I treasure. What keeps us going is something every friendship needs: Great Communication. There are times when I see Meri once a month but when I see her it's as though we've seen each other every other day! She's one person I'd call at 1am and just cry about my problems. We've become sisters.

4. You are both highly talented and are known for having bubbly personalities on and off screen. How do you both deal with the overwhelming constant attention from your fans and teens that aspire to be just like you?

Merica:  Awwww thank u babe [Smiles] Well I don't put on this whole 'persona' when I'm around people… I remain grounded and humble! I will take pictures, sign autographs and answer all their questions! I really do appreciate it. It shows I'm doing a good job! Whoop whoop [Does the happy dance]

Ivana: For me personally, I still find it weird that there are people who want to take pics with me hehe, and also aspire to be where I am in terms of my career at my age but I see this as a blessing from God: to have the opportunity not only to live my dream but to have a positive impact on the youth. Fortunately for me, I'm from a household/family where there's no room for 'big heads'. So when Merica and I bump into people who love what we do, we give the biggest smiles ever!

5. It's the year 2011 aka 20-Elevation what can we expect from you? Any resolutions?

Merica: Ayeye..let's elevate! U can expect my Zulu 2 get better lol. Well I'm pushing for more auditions and to expand myself as a brand. I'll be MC'ing at few events. Oooh and radio wouldn't be too bad... What u think?? Hehehe let's see where God elevates me to!!!!

Stay true to yourself and people will love you for who you are! Muah :)))*

Ivana: I've let go of things and people who have held me back and made be believe I couldn't achieve more than I already have. This year I'll be pursuing my passion for theatrical acting; real soon I'll be involved in a musical for a young market. I will definitely continue with my presenting. I'm also currently working on something for teen girls to groom and work on inner beauty, really excited about that! There's a few other things I'll be involved in in *20Heaven* and I'll be sure to fill Ice-Cream in on all of it! This year I just want to LIVE, with God right next to me. I believe that each person is the author of their "Life Book" so you decide how you want it to be - make it an Exciting and Phabulous read; an Epic novel not a footnote!

"Life's a Stage... Perform"

Thanx Yaya for considering us for a feature for your Online Mag, really honoured!

I wish you all the best for the Mag, I'm sure you're it'll succeed! What a great idea you had with this concept.
Can't wait... (**,)
